One of the most important pilgrimages of the year at the Oratory takes place in March when the great annual novena dedicated to Saint Joseph is held. The novena to Saint Joseph is presented under a different theme each year, highlighting one aspect or another of the Christian faith. A preacher (religious or lay person) is appointed to give a short daily teaching on the chosen theme. This novena culminates on March 19 with the great Feast of Saint Joseph. Several celebrations bring together pilgrims in the Basilica and the Crypt Chruch of the Oratory.
