Deeply rooted in the history of Montréal and Québec, the Montréal Alouettes football team was founded in 1946. The team is part of the Canadian Football League (CFL), which is separated into two divisions: the East Division and the West Division. All CFL teams are Canadian, and the two Division champions at the end of the football season face each other in the Grey Cup game, which, since 2007, has been held on the fourth or fifth Sunday of November.
