Festivals and events Leisure activities Music Indoor Old Montreal and Old Port
This final concert of the SMCQ's 59th season with the Ensemble de la SMCQ and Voces Boreales, directed by Andrew Gray, is a vibrant tribute to Canadian composer Jocelyn Morlock, who sadly passed away in 2023. Come and listen “The uses of solitude” for flute, harp and viola, premiered in Quebec by the Kalysta trio, and the poignant “Exaudi” played by cellist Chloé Dominguez. Also, a creation by Rita Ueda, works that reflect today’s ever-shifting interactions between cultures in flux. Internationally renowned composer Samy Moussa will present a new piece for oboe, performed by Mélanie Harel. “Sivunittinni”, a striking work by throat singer Tanya Tagaq, completes the concert.
