“Hamlet” by Opéra de Montréal is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s iconic play. The audience will witness the anguish and tragic resentment that plague victims of a corrupt system. After the death of his father, the King of Denmark, Prince Hamlet d’Ambroise Thomas descends into deep grief. His mother, Queen Gertrude, hastily remarries his uncle Claudius, who ascends to the throne. The ghost of the deceased king appears to Hamlet, claiming to have been murdered and demanding vengeance. Thus begins a harrowing spiral where the prince must navigate duty, loyalty, and personal ambition.
