Let's Celebrate St. Catherine

November 25th used to be a day when no one worked and everyone celebrated with banquets, dancing, and good times. This was the feast of St. Catherine! In this spirit of celebration, Maison Saint-Gabriel invites visitors to a festive day featuring music, stories, workshops and a sweet tradition. It is one of the few places where traditional St. Catherine taffy is still being made. The sisters of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame have been making this molasses-based candy since Marguerite Bourgeoys’s time. On Novembrer 23th, workshops to learn how to make it with family or friends are offered.
