Let's Celebrate St. Catherine

November 25th used to be a day when no one worked and everyone celebrated with banquets, dancing, and good times. This was the feast of St. Catherine! In this spirit of celebration, on Novembrer 24th, Maison Saint-Gabriel invites visitors to a festive day featuring music, stories, workshops and a sweet tradition. It is one of the few places where traditional St. Catherine taffy is still being made. The sisters of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame have been making this molasses-based candy since Marguerite Bourgeoys’s time.
