Anri Sala : Ravel Ravel Interval
Festivals and events Leisure activities Arts Indoor Downtown
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) presents the Canadian premiere of Anri Sala’s immersive video installation "Ravel Ravel Interval" this fall. Internationally renowned Albanian-French artist Sala takes over the Carré d’art contemporain with a striking work that features two simultaneous, or nearly simultaneous, interpretations of Maurice Ravel’s "Piano Concerto for the Left Hand" performed by pianists Louis Lortie and Jean-Efflam Bavouzet. This installation emphasizes human sensitivity through their variations. The exhibition also kicks off the MMFA's celebrations for Ravel’s 150th anniversary, with Lortie in residence at Bourgie Hall during the 2024–2025 season.
