"887" explores how memory takes shape, rooted in Robert Lepage’s childhood recollections. Years later, he revisits those moments to ask why a phone number from long ago stays sharp while a new one fades, or a childhood song endures as a loved one’s name slips away. Blending theatre and lecture, Lepage examines how personal and collective memories intertwine, etched into the names of streets, parks, and monuments. The work reflects on forgetting, in an era where digital archives now store what we once held in mind, turning the stage into a place to question the meaning of live performance itself. In French.
