Source, designed by internationally renowned artist, Jaume Plensa, was created for Montréal's 375th anniversary. The sculpture represents a crouching human form (a common characteristic of the artist’s work) composed of an entanglement of letters and symbols from eight alphabets representing, in part, the complexity of humanity. The work also symbolizes the unity of the communities of diverse origins that have contributed to the cultural richness of Montréal.
