Sherbrooke Street West
Culture, arts and heritage Leisure activities Architecture Outdoor Downtown
Once home to Montréal’s well-to-do, this street is a showcase of splendid early 20th century architecture. Expansive Victorian-style homes, luxurious apartment buildings, hotels, historic properties and businesses line this busy thoroughfare in the Golden Square Mile district, with the most renowned being the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts. Historically English-speaking, the neighbourhood is a nod to past British influence. West of the downtown core, this commercial artery offers a wealth of luxurious and unique finds in an array of high-end boutiques such as specialty shops, designer boutiques, art galleries, antique stores and trendy restaurants. Some boutiques are also on de la Montagne and Crescent streets.
