Optical Orbit No. 2, a.k.a. The Artichoke by Gerald Gladstone
Culture, arts and heritage Leisure activities Architecture Outdoor Parc Jean-Drapeau
Made of an arrangement of ovoid shapes comparable to that of leaves and petals, this artwork of Gerald Gladstone became known as the Artichoke, even though it bears no relation to the plant or organic realm. Its elliptical curve is multiplied and solidified here in a symbolic representation of our terrestrial world, immutable and in motion.
