The Clock Tower
Culture, arts and heritage Leisure activities Outdoor Old Montreal and Old Port
The Clock Tower was built in 1922 to commemorate the courage of the men of the Merchant Fleet who were lost during World War I. Located at the foot of this emblematic tower, the Clock Tower Beach is a veritable window on the St. Lawrence River. Although swimming is not possible, visitors can indulge in pleasant sunbathing with all the beach essentials, including umbrellas, sprayers, a boardwalk, and a snack. The Tower can be admired from the outside but is not open to visitors.
