Réseau express métropolitain (REM)
The city Indoor
The Réseau express métropolitain (REM) is a new light rail transit system that is currently partially operational, connecting Brossard station on the South Shore to Gare Centrale in the heart of downtown Montréal. Construction is ongoing to extend the network towards Deux-Montagnes, Anse-à-l’Orme, and Montréal-Trudeau Airport. Once completed, the REM will feature 26 stations and 67 kilometres of track, serving Greater Montréal. Operating 20 hours a day, 7 days a week, the REM is fully electric and automated. This allows passengers to enjoy a unique view from the front or back of the train, particularly when crossing the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, which offers a breathtaking view of Montréal’s skyline.
