Sonic Sundays in the sun at Piknic Électronik
Piknic Électronik is a must if you’re an electronic music fan, love to dance or simply want to chill in the park among friendly Montrealers. For more than 20 seasons, the weekly outdoor event brings in some of the world's biggest DJs, giving crowds all the right reasons to spend the afternoon smiling, dancing, and stretching out under the sun. Here’s all you need to know about the excellent beats and exquisite vibes that await you on two stages in Parc Jean-Drapeau.
Party park life
Piknic Électronik’s location is one of the most beautiful places in the city. The whole event takes place overlooking the St. Lawrence River from among the trees in Parc Jean-Drapeau, just steps from the metro station on Saint Helen’s Island. Every Sunday afternoon from May to October 2025, listen to music on the main stage or Boisé stage and dance, eat, drink, and chill out with friends and family — there’s even an activity zone just for kids! Committed to the party vibe no matter the weather, Piknic takes place rain or shine; much like Montréal’s other iconic Sunday dance event, Les Tam-tams up on Mount Royal park.

International DJs meet legendary locals
With over 100 performances from an inclusive array of artists, Piknic Électronik hits all the right notes, showcasing beloved, classic electro beats with fresh and original sounds. Some of the best international electronic producers and DJs come to Montréal to get everyone dancing outdoors in the park from afternoon to night — and even later into the night at “OFF-Piknic” events in the city.

Dance to the Montréal beat
In keeping with its friendly, community spirit, Piknic always highlights incredible local artists. Every Sunday on the main and Boisé stages, you’ll find an array of diverse and dynamic talent both home-grown here in Québec and from across Canada. Refreshments for body and soul
If you’re going to spend the day in the park—especially with the intention to work up a sweat—nourishment and hydration are vital. Piknic Électronik’s food and beverage options have you covered, with eats ranging from healthy whole foods to casse-croûte classics burgers and poutine. And while bringing your own alcohol isn’t allowed on site (although revellers are invited to indulge in a signature boozy bucket from the Piknic Terrasse), packing your own snacks to keep fuelled up is highly encouraged.

EDM eco-awareness
Since its very beginning in 2003, Piknic Électronik has been committed to sustainable development and reducing its carbon footprint. Steps away from the Jean-Drapeau metro station and right by the summertime river shuttle, taking public transit to Piknic is a breeze. There’s also plenty of bike parking for those coming via bicycle, be it BYOB (so to speak) or Montréal’s Bixi bike network. On site, you’ll find reusable cups and recyclable or compostable dishes, a compost bin, and a water fountain for refilling (non-glass) water bottles. When buying your ticket, you’ll also have the opportunity to donate to an ecological project of your choice.

Nearby attractions
While Piknic Électronik transforms Sundays in the park, there’s even more going on in Parc Jean-Drapeau throughout the week. You’ll find live entertainment and games of chance at the Casino de Montréal, thrills and family fun at Six Flags amusement park La Ronde, and edifying education and architecture at the Buckminster Fuller-designed Expo 67 Biosphère. And throughout the summer, festivals and major events fill the park, such as world-renowned annual fireworks competition L'International des Feux Loto-Québec from late-June to mid-August, the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada in June, the three-day music fest Osheaga, EDM festival îLESONIQ Montréal, and country music festival LASSO Montréal in August.
