Nuit Blanche in Montréal is one of the winter’s most festive evenings. Every February, this event is a beacon of light in one of the darkest and coldest months and fills the city with all night events. With a host of free indoor and outdoor activities, it's the closing festival for MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE and will be rolling out city-wide to offer night owls a fun-filled all-nighter, offering something for everyone. Whether you want to taste the best dishes in town, dance the night away to pounding rhythms or spend the night enjoying winter sports, it's the perfect chance to spend some time outside enjoying the endless possibilities Montréal has to offer.

Enhancing Montréal's nightlife

Inspired by the Parisian version of the event, Nuit Blanche à Montréal was born in 2003. The goal was to create a festive and safe evening that would enhance the city's nightlife. More than 20 years after its creation, Montrealers’ favourite winter night has become a true emblem of the festival industry. Its effervescence and artistic happenings make it the perfect opportunity to go out with family or friends and fully embrace the city's winter party.

Destination: Place des Festivals

At the heart of festivities and hub of the Nuit Blanche, Place des Festivals comes alive every year until very late in the evening. It is a hotspot for sliding, skating or a thrilling ride on a Ferris wheel. Everything takes place in a festive atmosphere to the sound of the best DJs. To make the evening even more perfect, the Quartier des Spectacles merchants gather to offer mulled wine or hot chocolate and the chance to taste the greatest culinary finds in Montréal.

Celebrate in every neighbourhood

During Nuit Blanche, the whole city moves to the beat of winter. Most neighbourhoods have all-night events and festivities to warm and hearts. In addition to the event's main site, Place des Festivals, several boroughs will be buzzing with programs more energizing and electrifying than ever, including Old Montréal, Plateau-Mont-Royal, the Latin Quarter, the Village, Mile-End and Hochelaga.

Travel easy, travel safe

Next stop: Nuit blanche. There is no reason not to enjoy the festivities when it is possible to get around the city safely by metro and bus. With transit running around the clock, public transport gives families and revelers the chance to fully enjoy the programming, from dusk until dawn. A Nuit Blanche mobile team also travels around the city helping festival goers hop from one place to another.

Come join the fun!
