Karaoke is a social art form celebrated the world over, allowing anyone with a little nerve and a few minutes at the mic to liberate themselves through song. Whether youve got pipes like Céline or Johnnys gravelly timbre, are faithful to the classics or ride for the top 40, theres a place in Montréal for you to take to the stage and let your voice soar.

Le Date

Le Date

1218 Sainte-Catherine Street East | Website

Village mainstay Le Date is the blueprint for karaoke bars. Bustling with both eager performers and captive audiences ready to sing along, it's one of the busiest in the city, so consider reserving a table ahead (and drop your song requests online too) to secure yourself a spot. Care for a memory of your time taking the stage? With your consent, performances are filmed and uploaded online the next day.

L'Astral 2000

1845 Ontario Street East | Website

Holding down the fort since 1999, L'Astral 2000 is one of the top francophone karaoke bars in town. The cold beer and warm ambiance attract all kinds of karaoke aficionados, from the solo, belting divas to the bachelorette, 3-to-the-mic singalong groups. This is a judgement-free space, so order a pitcher, take a deep breath, and pretend you’re on La Voix.

3 Minots

3812 Saint-Laurent Boulevard | Website

For the extrovert who cant get enough of the stage, spotlights, and smoke machines, 3 Minots is a karaoke must. Located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard—affectionately known to locals as the Main—its a great follow-up to chic cocktails at the Darling, Bar Suzanne, or other nightlife spots nearby. Pro tip: keep your ears alert for your name being called, because the KJ won't wait to start playing your song!

Bar La Remise

540 Boucher Street | Website

On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, join the regulars at this neighbourhood tavern on a small side street just off Saint-Denis Street. Theyll welcome you with open arms and share the mic freely. Dont hold back—« lâchez-vous louse »—as they say here. Its the perfect place to belt it out and leave it all on the stage. Get there early if you want to grab a table; it fills up fast.

Taverne Normandie

1295 Atateken Street | Website

Running strong since 1981, Normandie is one of the longest-running taverns in the Village, with karaoke offered every night of the week and terrace access in the milder months. There's something particularly auspicious about a karaoke bar that opened the same year as Journey released Don't Stop Believin', wouldn't you say?

Niche

Notre-Dame-des-Quilles

32 Beaubien Street East | Website

It's hot, queer karaoke on a bowling alley, what more could you want? Little Italy's NDQ is known for its immaculate vibes every day of the week, but Sundays are for karaoke. This cozy venue is no stranger to wild performances (check out other events such as drag, cabaret, burlesque, comedy, open mic nights, etc.), so try out your most experimental songs.

Barraca

1134 Mont-Royal Avenue East | Website

Every Saturday night, the Plateaus favourite rum bar puts on an amazing karaoke night. The clients who come for its selection of 160 rum labels and tapas are always taken by surprise, but theyre eventually seduced by the festive ambiance and saunter up to the mic. A truly transformative, tropical experience.

Bar Zoé

3296 Jean-Talon Street East | Website

To paraphrase an ancient meme: "I'm at the fondue restaurant. I'm at the karaoke bar. I'm at the combination fondue restaurant and karaoke bar." Bar Zoé, a stone's throw away from St-Michel metro in Little Maghreb, is an immensely popular nightlife spot that takes both fondue and karaoke seriously. Browse its website to select your tunes beforehand, reserve online or even watch the evenings performances streamed live.

Cobra

6584 Saint Laurent Boulevard | Website

The tacky, raucous, nostalgic, maximalist, late 1980s fever dream in Little Italy known as Cobra is, among other things, a fantastic karaoke joint. With karaoke every night starting at 10 p.m., you can take to a stage surrounded by neon signs and pop culture memorabilia. Check their social media for special themed nights, such as Swiftie or Emo karaoke.

Mariscos

436 Saint-François-Xavier Street | Website

With a laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff, Mariscos is a great place for a night out in Old Montréal. But for a festive and musical experience, don’t miss the monthly Latin karaoke nights!

Private

Pang Pang

1226 Mackay Street | Website

The heart and Seoul of South Korean karaoke in the heart of downtown, Pang Pang offers an extensive catalogue of songs in Korean, Japanese, and English for private groups from 2 to 20. It's an all-ages venue (no alcohol served/allowed in) and offers dynamic pricing based on booking time and group size, making it an ideal choice for anyone and everyone ready to channel their inner K-pop idol.

Bar K

2110 Crescent Street | Website

Crescent Street always seems to have a little something for everyone and karaoke is no exception. Walk up the stairs to find Bar K, offering private karaoke rooms that host up to 16 people. While bigger groups will always benefit from a reservation, walk-ins are also welcome. During regular hours, this venue is 18+, so order a drink and flip through an international array of songs to exercise your vocal stylings in French, English, Spanish, Filipino, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, or Indonesian

Le Mic Karaoke Lounge

1695 Maisonneuve Boulevard West | Website

Have you ever considered a side of grilled lamb kebabs and some Hennessy to go with your karaoke? Le Mic, a blacklight lit, swagged out karaoke hot spot thinks it might be about time that you did. With a vast song catalogue and a truly impressive spirits selection at the bar, you can live your best chaotic, retro-futurist, karaoke fantasies.
