JACKALOPE is a three-day action sports festival. You’ll see amazing urban sports and it’s a free to attend. Plus, the kids will love it.  The annual event is happening from September 13 – 15.

JACKALOPE

Born and raised right here in Montréal, JACKALOPE is the place in Canada to see many adrenaline junkies, all in the same place at the same time. It’s the convening of all these people that makes JACKALOPE so unique.

At JACKALOPE you will see hundreds of athletes from various countries in action: skateboarding, bouldering, and breakdancing.

Some big names in the world of skateboarding will be attending this year’s festival, such as Rony Gomes, Leonardo Vinicius, Leticia Gonçalves, Sophie Grant, and more. (Side note: supporting local skaters and climbers has always been at the heart of what JACKALOPE does.)

JACKALOPE - Bouldering contest

Don’t just watch, participate

This is not the type of sporting event where you sit in the stands and practice your golf clap. Participants are invited to skate and learn, invited to climb and fall. It’s an atmosphere where bailing is simply part of the process.

Join the speed competition—on a bouldering wall. The boulders are side-by-side and identical. The objective is simple: the first to top the boulder wins the duel. There will be several Arc'teryx prizes. (Routes constructed by the folks at Allez UP.)

Or try your hand at the friendly Skateboarding Vert Open competition. An impressive $10,000 will be divvied among the winners. For kids, the Pop Cup will provide a perfect introduction to skateboarding comps.

So, bring your skateboard or your climbing shoes—and then fall like everyone else.

More than sports

Along with sports, JACKALOPE has other things to offer; it’s also a cultural event. You’ll see DJs spinning, you’ll watch breakdancing, and you can support local craftspeople (which is perfect if you’re looking for a Montréal souvenir). Plus, you can sample the best darn street food in Montréal, with food truck options that include tacos, sushi, pizza, sweets, vegan cooking, and more. Bring your appetite. Here's a deep dive into what to eat at JACKALOPE Montréal 2024.

And this year’s new location in the Old Port provides direct access to many of Montréal’s best adrenaline activities: white-water jet boating, zip lining, helicopter rides, a massive Ferris wheel, and more!

The logistics

This year, the festival takes place at the Jacques-Cartier Pier, right next to the St. Lawrence river.

Access the site via the Champ-de-Mars metro station.
