In spring, summer or fall, biking is one of the best ways to explore Montréal – and it's easy to rent a bike in the city if you don't have your own. From new road and mountain bikes to electric bikes, scooters and BIXI, Montréal bike rental and tour experts are ready to help you discover Montréal on two wheels – and even rediscover sides of the city you've never seen before.
Rent bikes from the best
Explore Montréal on a high-quality, new rental bike from bike rental shops big and small. In the Old Port, tour company Montréal On Wheels rents new road bikes, tandems, hybrid bikes and child carriers. Near the Atwater Market and Lachine Canal, rent bikes from Ma Bicyclette. Also near the Lachine Canal is Allo Vélo, which offers a selection of top-notch European bikes and gear, all ready and set to peddle along the expansive network of urban bike paths. For families, Allo Velo is the only company in Montréal to rent electric cargo bikes which seat up to four children, between 1 and 6 years old, safely.

Ride with BIXI
A no-nonsense way to get from A to B in Montréal, bike-sharing system BIXI has hundreds of stations across the city – you can rent bikes at the station itself or through the BIXI app. Meant for shorter commutes, BIXI pedal bikes and electric bikes are adjustable, fitted with lights and available from April through to November. Note that while the same road rules apply to BIXI riders as they do to all other cyclists in Montréal, electric bike riders must by law wear a helmet due to the speeds the bikes can reach (up to 32 km/hr).
