Amtrak’s Adirondack train connects New York City to Montréal in roughly ten hours.
Known for its stunning and unique scenery, the Adirondack travels along the Hudson River and the shores of Lake Champlain before arriving in downtown Montréal. In other words, it offers a distinctive full‑day journey either from the Big Apple or on the way there.

It is no surprise that the route has long been a favourite among rail‑travel enthusiasts. In 2019, before the pandemic, more than 117,000 passengers experienced it. After pausing service during the pandemic, the Adirondack resumed operations in 2023. Its daily schedule offers a relaxed trip between the two cities, without the need to drive.
