If you’re looking for an afternoon getaway to enjoy breathtaking autumn scenery, or you just want the fun of picking your own apples by the bushel, a visit to a local apple orchard is just the thing. Here are some places you can load up on Honeycrisp, Golden Delicious, Macintosh, Spartan, or whatever tickles your fancy.

Labonté de la Pomme - Verger & Miellerie

This century-old orchard and family-run agritourism estate welcomes you to share in the beauty of their land. Nestled mountainside overlooking the bucolic Oka Valley, Labonté de la Pomme also offers various fruit and vegetable patches to pick from. Visit their boutique and your way out or discover their “Cabane à pommes” which features an autumn themed menu.

Located on Notre-Dame-de-L’île-Perrot, Verger Labonté specializes in apples, pears, pumpkins and squashes. Billed as “eco-responsible”, Verger Labonté encourages an awakening to nature with the goal of learning about the links between people and the environment. They offer autumn-themed immersive workshops and actives as well.

Au Coeur de la Pomme

Not only is Au Coeur de la Pomme a modest dive away from Montréal in Frelighsburg (close to the US boarder), it’s also a journey through history. This 300-year-old site has a history that is directly related to the roots of the country. The Lavasseur family has been keeping the tradition alive for the past 30 years of offering U-Pick produce activities and a unique look into the past.

Vergers & Cidrerie Denis Charbonneau

Located at the foot of Mont-Saint-Gregoire, Verger Charbonneau hosts an abundance of activities and dining for the entire family. Their orchards are offer up to 19 different apple varieties as well as other fruits and berries. Discover their locally brewed ciders and dine at the Crêperie and choose between sweet or savoury options.

Quinn Farm is a local favourite located just 15 minutes west of the island. Not only known for the apple picking, but they’ve also got a host of fall-activities as well as other seasonal U-Pick fruits and veggies like blueberries, tomatoes, sweet corn, cucumbers and more.

Cidrerie Lacroix

Located in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, the Cidrerie Lacroix orchard boasts over 7000 apple trees with over 20 different apple varieties, from JerseyMac in August to Empire and Courtland into late fall. Visit their gourmet restaurant where they offer a “farm-to-table” dining experience or their ever-popular Cider House and their on-site brewing facility.

Plaza Rive Nord - Verger Richard Legault

Also located in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, Verger Richard Legault has been welcoming the public since 1979 where their U-Pick offerings include both apple and pumpkins. Sign up for one of their various day packages that include apple-picking, a tractor tour, farm visit and picnic.

La Magie de la Pomme

Prepared to be enchanted at La Magie de la Pomme. You’ll be welcomed by Lady Patricia, the "farm queen" on this estate that has been passed on through eight generations of farmers. After picking your apples, enjoy a picnic, tractor ride, or a farm tour and a visit to their tasting bar.

Since 2021, La tête dans les pommes's orchards are now 100% certified organic. Offering more than 25 varieties of apples grown without the use of chemical pesticides, this small farm offers free tastings, picnics, tractor rides and activities for children. Be sure to stop by their store and pick up some cider, jams and preserves on your way home.

Located in the Montérégie region, Verger Cinrerie PB711 is about an hour and 45 minutes east of Montréal and is open all year around.
